    Hidden Meanings In Songs?

    0 Not allowed! Not allowed!
One site I visited recently is dedicated to deciphering song meanings. I've never thought that most songs were that deep but having read a few interpretations for a number of songs, I'm curious to know what everyone thinks about songs and what they mean.

Are the lyrics meant to be interpreted or should they be taken literally?

Yes, lyrics in songs should be taken serious and be aware of what you are really listening to. Many artist in the music industry has embedded secretly all kinds of subliminal messages in their audience head for mind control called "MK ULTRA" you may find them when its played backwards for example, but who knows what really goes on behind them doors.

Speaking of subliminal messages there are some Youtube videos that show Michael Jackson songs being played backwards. The Smooth Criminal song being played backwards is the funniest out of them all. I remember listening to the song and one of the phrases was "Happy in your booty" I was ROFL all over the floor.

Those songs played in reverse have always been a huge hoax to me, ever since they did that with The Beatles, I think that was the first one they did that to.
What you get is a bunch of random sounds, of course some might form into what we imagine to be words, but we only find if if we're really looking for it.

Yes, some lyrics are meant to be interpret. It's how musicians express themselves but do it in a way where it is hidden and only a few people can catch the meaning of the line. I pick up on certain meanings in songs all the time. I usually can tell what the artist is trying to convey, especially if I am a huge fan of the person and have a small inkling of their personality traits.

Yes! I remember when I was a teenager I was heavy into Wu-Tang. Man, you want to talk about cryptic rhymes, that's the group to mention. Raekwon out of all of them was the hardest to understand...one phrase "rainbow roly" which I know refers to a rolex but not sure of the relevance of the work rainbow. Really mental lyrics. I much prefer heavy hitting, socially aware lyrics to more vapid and empty sexual lyrics but that could really be more of a generational preference than anything else.

Yeah in most cases lyrics have some meaning, but it depends on the artist and the type of music. You can listen to radio pop all you want but chances are you won't find much meaning in it. I like trying to interpret Kendric Lamar's songs, they usually are very poetic and have some very interesting nuances to them.

Do you even know how hard it is to record a real message like people claim, if it's played backwards? It's next to impossible. And even if you could, you can't actually hear it, even subliminally, when it's played forwards.

I honestly like to try and find both the lyrical message and the actual interpreted message. It's interesting to see how different the two can be! Sometimes there's very little to no difference, but other times there is a lot, and I mean a LOT.

I think the best songs are written in metaphors, which makes them all the more fun because they have a bit more depth and therefore you'd have something to dissect and analyze even if you've heard the song a thousand times or more.

Most need to be interpreted, I have always known that they had some hidden meaning but not all, you can tell by the wy the line comes or the wy the line is sung or rapped.

It's fairly easy to do it and it's cool that only some people really get what's being said in some songs.
Cashis music videos, check them out!

Yes, a lot of songs do have messages that can be deciphered, but honestly it depends on the type of artist and genre of music. It can actually be quite fun listening to songs in reverse and all of that, with that sense of satisfaction when you find something.

Someone mentioned there is a site to cross check lyrics? Can someone post the url? I'm interested in checking it out.

The thing is though, the 'messages' you hear in reverse are just the result of playing any kind of audio backwards. You could record yourself reading off a page from a random book, and when you play it backwards you'd find some kind of message.
