That is surprising, so they give us music so that we eat more? Clever and evil guys...!

I haven't really noticed the music, but the next time I go to a restaurant, I will be looking out for it.

I suppose the band at a restaurant would have to be really crappy for me to find them to be annoying. But, I want someone to sing to me while I eat. People eat, sing and perform all of the time in my birth state.

I'm not really a live band kind of girl, which is much different than my husband who is 16 years my senior. He loves to take me to this beachside grill that has older country/rock bands play. It's really wack. I wish he would take me to a jazz lounge or some other joint. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

As long as the food is good, the music doesn't really bother me. However, there is limit to everything & if the music was just overbearing & abrasive & strident, I would not take to well & that would probably be my last time eating there.

I rarely encounter a restaurant that features a live band or musicians to provide music for their customers unless you go to bars. What I usually notice in most cases is music being played through a music player (it cannot be seen, of course, but I'm sure it is a music player) where a list of songs or tracks is already preset. The genres being played are usually jazz and mellow music to provide relaxation to customers while eating.

I have never been to a restaurant with live music really, you must eat at higher-end places than I can afford

I do always notice the backing tapes that are on though, sometimes it can be really annoying, other times I love it. Not enough places have jukeboxes so we can select our own tracks.

Music in restaurants is not bad at all for as long as they know the audience/clientelle taste. If it's a restaurant that caters for all age groups then some slow, nice classical favourites would be okay.

I went to an outdoor restaurant once and there were these lady singers who were just screeching at the top of their lungs. It was kind of annoying but I really enjoyed the food so I had to stay. I think the singers were just having a bad day.

Even piped in music is annoying. I think Baja Fresh went out of business because their loud obnoxious Salsa music was enough to make me want to slit my freakin' wrists. I refused to ever "Eat in" there. Wasn't heartbroken when they went away. No food is so good that they get to force their shiitty taste in music down my throat along with their cuisine.

I only come to eat anyway, so If the food is good, I can care less about the music. Bad food equals bad everything! lol!!

It depends on the level of talent the band has and how loudly they are playing. If it's quiet background music, I don't mind it at all and actually like it. But when they're annoying and I can't hear the person sitting across from me, then I definitely can't stand that. Especially if the band is horrible!

I don't really care if there's music in restaurants or not... I really don't like super loud music when I'm eating though, so I'd prefer if its quiet if there is something playing.
