Musicians Who Won't/Can't Enunciate Words Properly?

Ever listened to a song and you just couldn't make out what the singer is saying because they're either yelling, mumbling or their enunciation is terrible? Does that make such singers bad? I mean if someone is singing to get a message across and fails to then what does it mean?

There's a longish list of such singers here

If you like such artists, what exactly makes you like their music?

I love Portishead but because the lead singer - Beth Gibbons - sings pretty quietly it's sometimes hard to understand what she's saying if I'm not paying attention.
They're great but it can be annoying, it's all part of the vibe I guess tho (Y)

I can deal with poor enunciation in rappers, but any other genre of music, it will make me want to rip my hair out.

As much as I love her as a musician, Beyoncé has a horrible enunciation problem. It's painful to hear her talk sometimes. I agree that Sting and Bob Dylan should actually be 1 and 2 on that list. Dylan was 1 but Sting should have been right behind him. I cannot sit through an interview of either men and listen to them try to articulate a thought. I just can't.
