Nah, but I would say that it helps a rapper a lot when he feels his home in his heart, y'know? There's something about deep-seated community that really gives rapper's the inspiration to make something great, whether it's Eminem and Detroit or Snoop Dogg and Long Beach.

For me it really does matter where you're from, I like a rapper who can show me that he/she is down to earth, and they have some realness inside them from all that show they put on for the industry. I want to know that you can still shed some tears if your mom died, and even still go help out in a disaster not for the fame but because you know you need to.
Where you come from don't matter to me, as long as I can see the real you in your music.

Never has mattered, I think the artist themselves are more worried about repping where they're from, but no-one really cares. You're either talented & have the skills or not. However it's always good to hear a story about someone becoming successful when the odds were against them being from a very small unknown town.

Sometimes I look for an artist from a specific place if I'm in a mood for that city's style.

But as far as on the regular, nah.

Good music is good music, no matter where you're from.

I don't think it really matters where a rapper is from. If they're good, then they're good.

I don't think that location really matters. Quality of the rap is what is very important.

Also along with that quality I like to be able to know what the lyrics are saying as well. If I can't understand the artist, accent or not, that usually is a huge turn off for me.

That's what I think too, you said it a lot better than how I tried to explain it earlier though.
