I am of Mexican descent and my friends in High School were too. When I or a friend would go through a breakup, it would be then when we would drink like hell for the heck of it while Mexican ranchera music was played on a loop.

I like to listen to stoner music whenever I'm feeling down. Most of the time I'm sitting in my car with my subs on full blast. Light up the blunt and I forget what I was even "down" about. I listen to a lot of Wiz khalifa and Juicy J. I'm into the trippy type beats.

I hate feeling down, but when I do feel down, I listen to music to get me into a good mood. I don't like dwelling on problems. I either do something to solve the problem, or stop thinking about it if I can't find a solution yet. I listen to Welcome to the Black Parade by MCR, The Phoenix by FOB, or Really Don't Care by Demi Lovato.

Oddly enough, I don't resort to music to lift up my mood. I usually do something else to distract my mind off my problems like playing sports or whatever. But when I do listen to music when I'm down, I simply listen to my favorite playlist. That is mostly alternative rock.

When I'm down, I tend to listen to laid-back music. I usually go for acoustic music. There's something special about guitars. I especially like the sound of spanish guitars. I like listening to new-age music too. But I haven't done that lately.

When I'm feeling down I don't really have an artist that I listen to, but in general I will always listen to pianos. Any song with the main focus on the piano tend to make me feel better. I used to listen to rock a lot before but I found over time that for some reason it just made me sadder. I think all the harsh, sharp sounds caused me to stay in a continual state of sadness. Although music is really helpful when I'm down I find being around someone I love really lightens my mood more than anything, so that's always my first go-to!

I listen to relaxing music. Most of them ballad love songs. It offers me a very light ambiance that makes me less stressed out. I even fall asleep better. It is much like a lullaby. Soft and very endearing. Plus it doesn't hurt my eardrums!

Childish Gambino all the way. His lyrics go deep and make me think. He has a way to make me feel relaxed and focused at the same time. Some good stuff.

When I am feeling low, I usually listen to anything that is slow and sad. When I listen to something that I I can relate to, I feel less lonely and start cheering up. And it also helps me to think about everything or any specific thing. Sometimes, I also listen to Celine Dion songs which helps to motivate me.

When I'm feeling down, I listen to fight songs about not giving up like Before My Body Is Dry from the anime Kill La Kill, or Battle Without Honor or Humanity from Kill Bill Vol, 1, or The Reluctant Heroes from the anime Attack on Titan.
Even Live To Win by Paul Stanley from the South Park episode Make Love Not Warcraft works.
When life knocks me on my ass, I like those battle themes from movies and shows about a lone hero battling against impossible odds.
Like in Kill La Kill, a teenage girl with a sword has to fight her entire school all by herself while trying to find her father's murderer.
Battle songs make me want to get off my butt and do something to better my situation instead of sitting around crying.
Honestly ,in the anime, when Ryuko is almost dead and she finds the strength to get back up and fight, it makes me a little emotional.
