I think Amazon is being very naive if they think these things won't be shot down all the time.
That's the first thing I immediately thought when I read about this, sure they have weight restraints so you won't shoot one down and get a TV, but you might get a smartphone or a videogame...
Can't wait to play some Amazon Piņata!

HAHAHAHAHA! Am I the only one who sees the irony here? You're complaining about people wanting everything right now while posting on a forum that allows you to share your thoughts to the world in real time. Really? Really, now? Get real man, if you don't like technology why don't you send letters my steamboat to everyone on here instead. Sheesh

There are going to be a lot of problems with drones. Imagine lots of drones flying around everywhere, that is going to be a lot of sound pollution. Talk about the health hazards as well, a little kids hand is going to get chopped off by one of the rotors! Not only this, but who isn't gonna go hunting for these drones and salvage their parts?

I don't really see this playing out. After all, mail carrying is strictly regulated by the government and there are too many liabilities that Amazon faces trying to implement this sort of activity. If it ain't broke don't fix it...

I do not know about this there are a lot of pros and cons when it comes down to things like this. I think it could be a higher risk of people not getting there packages.

First of all i can't wait for this because im tired of waiting for shipping. Second of all they better not ship anything in the ghetto because that drone will not be coming back to the warehouse. lol

When I first heard of this story I was excited and interested, then the more I thought about it the more I thought it was just a marketing ploy. Do we all think it will actually happen? It just sounds too crazy to believe!

I think it'd be great if this actually happened. But unfortunately, if this were to happen, many people would be stealing the deliveries and it wouldn't end up well for Amazon.

I can see drones across the land being shot out of the sky by those looking for an active target for shooting practice lol! Being serious though the costs of running the drones to deliver everything would outweigh the cost of delivering via vans surely? Also think of how many parcels they deliver daily, there drones would be swarming the skies around the distribution centers.

This will certainly post a new threat to security and a new tool for drug dealers to deliver their substances all over the country with little effort and most efficiently than ever before, reaching not only wider areas but at a more significantly high speed than they used to. The other issue will be the threat of terrorist attacks by using this new media for transporting maybe bombs or possibly deseases hidden within envelopes like they did with Anthrax in the past.
