These kinds of stories are what keep me going. It feels good to believe in magic.

That's absolutely insane. If I were him, I'd probably give him a portion of my winnings but definitely not half. If the psychic was so assured about his vision, he probably should have bought the ticket himself. It seems very useless to go to court over something like this.

I wouldn't care about giving money away as long as I had a million left. All I'd need is that because I could invest most of it and get what I need with a little of it. Then I'd just live off of the interest and hide away playing video games the rest of my life!

I mean i woudnt give him half either but i would give him something just to show my gratitude. As far as the psychic i mean they saw what was already coming. I might give a little. At the end of the day he purchased it himself. I he lost it would have been HIS money wasted.

Exactly. That would be the best defense. If he was so sure why not buy it himself and cut out the middle man. Psychic pshhhtttt
Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

The judge made a fair ruling. The employer wouldn't have won anything had it not been for the insistence of the employee. For that reason, the psychic was entitled to a fair share of the winnings or at least a little bit of money for the employer to show some gratitude for the information he got. Now that the psychic worker is going to get about $850,000 I wonder if he'll be going to work for the same employer again? They seem to be good business partners when it comes to making huge amounts of cash.

I am not sure about that. There was no contract or agreement that if the person won that a certain percentage goes to the waiter. If the waiter was psychic they should have seen this coming and had them sign a contract prior.

Sounds like something out of It Can Happen To You, except the man didn't promise the waiter he would share half of his earnings with anyone. That's gotta suck big time when a court makes you share your winnings with a stranger. Taxes are already going to get their share and now you have to split it with a guy who got lucky on a physic prediction.
