I hope that the guy wins at court. I don't think it's so much about getting his job back, because it would be an uncomfortable work environment. However, it would clear his name so he can go on to work elsewhere.

Another ridiculous thing happening to a completely innocent person that did not need to happen at all! Makes me so sick to her things like this going on in the world. This guy definitely did not deserve this at all!

With things like this happening it takes the initiative away from everyday citizens to act like good Samaritans. So disappointing. Hopefully karma comes around and makes things right.

This is so weird. I hope he find a new, and better job, quickly. Hopefully an article like this will give him exposure and someone will want to hire him.

    That's outrageous!

Why would he get fired for something that would benefit the store? It's f*cked up. Pardon my french.

What..? Does this mean we get fired even if we do our job properly. He was a good citizen and he reported the incident. My instincts tell me that Something is wrong here and we don't have the whole story of this here.I hope he gets his name cleared, lest it might be a hassle later on.
    Boycott Target..!!

Yeah, it's an absolute nonsense, if doing our job correctly gets us fired I no longer know what to do.

I agree I do hope Northington wins in court and gets some money out of this. That officer and Northington's supervisor screwed him over so I really want to see some justice.

If all he did wrong was not follow protocol then the punishment should have been a lot less severe since his intention was clearly to protect the store. I think Target is wrong in this situation and I hope their customers give them flack for it.

It just shows how corrupt the system we live in is. I mean all he is trying to do is provide for his family and the emphasis on paperwork is astonishing! I think it's the fact that he was there for eight years which makes it more shocking. Just goes to show there is no loyalty with big corporations.

Bloody cops, man... Bloody cops. Imagine losing your job because you busted a cop. This sort of idea that cops must be protected at all costs and the idea that they can do no wrong is very dangerous. I am happy that the guy lawyered up and I hope that he gets a great settlement because he deserves it. These guys are scumbags- the cop walks away with no charges and maybe even gets another job lined up thanks to the old boy's club and the poor guy goes broke.

In Alabama, they also like to "shoot the messenger". Reporting a crime is the same as confessing to the crime, in Alabama. I really hope that he gets a job that appreciates his honesty.
