I believe the first rap artist I listen to was none other than Eminem and currently, he's still one of my favorite's to this day.

First rapper was Will Smith, and then Eminem. First rap song that really grabbed me towards rap was Eminem - The Real Slim Shady

It is funny that it was Eminem for me as well. I use to listen to his rap all day long, and use to spend countless hours memorizing his lyrics. His rap had the best flow out of all, and I like his dark and damp personality. My favorite song is "Not Afraid" as it has powerful lyrics.

Course not, but they're what got me into rap in the first place. I heard Mike Shinoda on In the End, thought it sounded pretty cool, then started searching for stuff like it. Found Eminem, then boom, interest in rap.

I'm not afraid to admit that Eminem got me into rap, but bands like System of a Down and Limp Bizkit really got me into music in general.

Linkin Park was definitely NuMetal in the beginning. Then they went to a hybrid rock-electronica kind of thing, and now their most recent album was actually hard rock with a little rapping. It was pretty good actually.

First rapper for me? Eminem, like a lot of other people.

Man, that new LP record is really heavy, I really like it.

A lot of purists would disagree with me, but I don't care. I'm a punk fan, so their new sound is music to my ears.

There was a huge Ice Cube phase the kids went through at school around 2000. Demaz bought The Predator CD to school and we'd all bump it and like it because of it's provocative nature..

Then Limp Bizkit/Linkin Park/System and all those pseudo thrash metal bands came along and we all loved them, then Eminem blew up massively and the rest is history. Demaz had a tape of D12's debut album Devil's Night in late-2001, and we'd bump that shit all the damn time.

    Wow, I feel so old.

It was Eminem for me as well. The Real Slim Shady was the first rap song that really got me. Before that, I thought rap was all nonsense. I have listened to a lot of rap songs since then and I realized how wrong I was.

Yeah, it's pretty darn good. I actually liked their stuffer after Hybrid Theory and Meteora most. The NuMetal just seemed a little childish after awhile, but The Hunting Party is harder rock with more serious rapping. It sounds great to me.

Wow, for me it was exactly the same. Eminem was the one who got me interested in rap and I still love his music even though I think he's already past his prime. He's still dope, but I feel like he was better around 10 years ago.
