Should the law be more in our favor if an intruder breaks into our home?

And see what happened in Florida? George Zimmerman ordeal that is. He shot a boy dead and walked free without even a slap on the wrist. They have such a law where people are not required to flee - i.e. they could stand the ground and shoot. Which leads to all sort of problems, i.e. disproportionate killing etc. - as people are not exactly known to be rational or judicious.

I think that the law definitely should be in our favor as we're largely trying to protect ourselves and our property from a threat.

Yea unfortunately in most cases I think the burglar is in favor. Differs by state. In New York a guy crashed through a glass sky roof (trying to get into the house) and broke his leg. He sued the home owner and won. Unbelievable. I bet things are different in Texas though. Probably turn into a 10 minute shoot out between the home owner and the burglar. LMAO.

There is such a thing as the Castle doctrine which as I have spoken with cops about this, none can advise you directly on it, but they can advise you to research and educate yourself about it. Though none would ever admit that in a court of law.

If some burglar breaks into my house, you can be sure i'm going to shoot him. He's obviously prepared to kill me if he has to, so why should I consider not shooting him?

What they are not entitled to do is go running down the road chasing them or shooting them in the back when they are running away or to get their friends together and go and beat them up.
