Iggy's up there, but the all time fem star for me is Dessa. Even if she's more hip hop then rap, just too ill to pass her by.

The best female hip hop artist out right now hasn't been discovered yet. I hate what I see now. Basically the problem is there seems to be an unwritten rule where only 1 or 2 female hip hop artists can be present for the next 5 - 10 years. I don't remember it like this during the 90s. I'm not a fan of Iggy and Nicki is okay but she certainly isn't my choice as the best female rapper right now.

I had a lot of faith in iggy til she dropped her most recent. She promised that she'd never sing. Said she had a terrible voice and wouldn't sell out like other female artists (not naming names... Nicki...)

I'm just so disheartened at this point. It seems like every female rapper has let me down by trying to do a pop/rap thing.

So my answer is missy e, even though I don't dig her style, she kept it real.

I agree. She's lost whatever it is she had when she started out. I feel like she's just trying to hard to stand out at this point.

Snow Tha Product is probably the most impressive female rapper I've heard in a while.

I wont put iggy up there just yet she hasnt had enough time in the game to be considered the best. I have heard of snow tha product i have to hear more from her and iggy as well. I still feel there are talented female rappers out here that just need to get their shine.

I think that missy elliot was awesome to hear back in the early 2000's. I remember she did a song with Kelly Rowland and Fantasia called "Without Me" which that was dope. I really liked Missy style as well she was one not to be toyed with. I don't know if she is doing any newer songs or not.

Da Brat was one of my other female rappers out there who knew how to do her thing. I remember she did her remix to the song "Look at Me Now". I remember she was also one of the stars on the show "The Surreal Life" which had some other previously famous celebrities like Jenny from The Gogo's.

Snow Tha Product's last mixtape was fire, but a lot of the singles/freestyles Nicki has been putting out recently are sick too. Iggy Azalea doesn't really have enough stuff out to really make a judgement. Azalea Banks had 212 but she's really fallen off and just got dropped from her label. I'd say Snow is probably the best still putting out material right now.

If we count in german female rappers too i would say Schwesta Schwesta Ewa could go big if she keeps rapping like she does right now. Other than that Missy Elliot was great and Iggy Azalea could become big if she makes some more songs in the future, but we will see.

I hate to say it but I genuinely to like Iggy Azalea. I know she and Nicki Minaj have some public beef over Iggy not writing her own lyrics or whatever but it's clear that Iggy gets down to it when she's on stage where Nicki has been all about the performance lately. If you listen to her mix tapes from way back in the day she kept it real but since like Pink Friday ... I really haven't thought much about her.

I will have to go with Nicky. I think that she is one of the most talented female rappers out there. Even though some of her music has been dumbed down to be more commercial and appealing to the average listener, she still has amazing lyrics and her music is up there with some of the best male rappers in the industry. I think that she is managed to hold her craft and has managed to develop the skill to a level that it is acceptable to the average listener. But compared to some of the best rappers out there she is definitely making a mark indenting the rap industry.
